Goat cheese is a major specialty in Shilin. Local
people boil fresh goat milk, add acid water for solidification, press it into a
big piece, and dry it for cheese. There are many ways
to eat it - steaming, boiling, pan frying, frying, braising, and eating raw.
People also cook dishes like steamed goat cheese with ham, and braised green
beans with goat cheese, etc. Goat cheese produced in winter has better quality.

1. Shilin Shuanglong Vegetable Market (aka New Mall): The goat cheese here is mainly homemade by farmers and sold by weight;
2. Pengcheng goat cheese and Yangnaima goat cheese are two big goat cheese production enterprises in Shilin County. Product is 350 grams per bag with vacuum packaging, available at Jinfang Supermarket and non-staple food stores in the county.
